HEAVENLY THOUGHTS

Be like Joe...Psalm 40: 3-5

He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God; Many will see and fear And will trust in the LORD. How Blessed is the man who has made the Lord his trust, And has not to the proud, nor to those who lapse into falsehood. Many, O LORD my God, are the wonders which You have done, And Your thoughts toward us; There is none to compare with You. If I would declare and speak of them, They would be too numerous to count.…Psalm 40:3-5

Praise God from Whom ALL Blessings come!

I always carry in my heart the knowledge that God sets our appointments.
Yesterday I met Joe and Susie.
They had posted an organ for free on a local swap shop.  Knowing that I had a need for the organ for our church building, I responded and set up a time to pick up the organ on a Monday evening.
The weather turned ugly with cold and snow, so I called and made a new appointment for Wednesday evening at 5:30 pm.
Wednesday morning arrived with a beautiful sun shiny day set before us.  We had many duties to attend to before our appointment to pick up the organ. And as the day went on, we fell behind schedule and ended up making the call that we were on on way, but would be a little late.
We arrived about 45 minutes late after borrowing a truck that took us several miles out of our way.  We tried but could not find anyone willing to help us load this heavy organ, so we went forward in faith knowing that where there is a will (God's will in this case) there is a way.

I had forgotten my note with the address for the house, but somehow managed to drive right to the location of the house.
Joe met us on the porch very concerned that we did not bring help, because he wouldn't be able to help lift the organ, due to a previous back injury. Joe is a big burly sort of gentleman with a huge smile and a happy way about him that just make you want to smile right along with him.
His concern was evident, however, as he so much wanted to assist with the loading of this organ and knew that he really could not help.
Tim and I had brought the wheeled dolly because we knew from moving various other heavy items in the past that this would surely be needed for the organ.
I can still hear Joe's voice as he said, " This organ must weigh 500 pounds, I just don't know who to call to help."
We assured him that we would get it as the four of us; Joe and Susie, Tim and I collectively used our ideas to slowly raise this organ up onto the dolly and out the front door and into the back of the truck.
It worked beautifully as the organ slid into the truck bed and Tim strapped it down for safe travel.
Standing beside the truck, Joe asked what we would be using the organ for.  I replied that it would be going to a church and Joe's smile was exuberant with joy that could only come from our Lord!
His joy was catching as we all giggled when Joe declared, "No wonder it all worked so well.  If I had known it was going to a church I wouldn't have been worried about how heavy it was!"
We all stood in agreement that God's hand was right there with us making the situation easy and in it all, our God was glorified!

God surely set this appointment with Joe and Susie and oh, how blessed Tim and I felt being in their presence.

Joe, stood on the porch of the house and said,  "This is amazing. I don't know you. We just met, but I feel as if we have all know each other forever!"

And so it is when our Father in Heaven sets our appointments.
We get a helping hand from our Lord and we are blessed as His name is glorified with our brothers and sisters in Christ.

What an awesome and glorious God we serve.

I will never forget Joe's big smile and authentic love for Jesus, as the joy of the Lord was his essence that evening.

And I am in eager anticipation to hear the organ, our gift from God as it is played inside the church building as we sing in praise and worship to who He is and His great love for us!

My prayer for today is that we can all be like Joe, with a huge heart for God and a great big smile to prove it!  It is my prayer that our Father in Heaven heals Joe's back in total restoration and health and that Joe's testimony of healing will forever glorify our God.

Praise God from Whom all blessings come.
Thank you for setting our appointments!

Love and Blessings to ALL in Jesus precious name.  Amen.
