The Spirit itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of God: (Romans 8:16 KJV)

Hugs from Jesus
When we hug someone it is to show affection, love or compassion, and kindness.  Sometimes it is a welcome hug, a goodbye hug or a just want to be close to someone hug.
Hugs make us feel good.  We feel cared about, loved and worthwhile. Hugs are healing, leaving us with a warm feeling inside of our heart.

I recently had a dream.  I was in a church in a big room.  There were a lot of little children there, as if there was going to be a bible teaching for children.  There were ministers there and they were busy doing the necessary tasks in order to get prepared for the children’s service.

I noticed a man standing off in the distance next to the wall.  On several occasions I noticed he was watching me.  Our eyes would meet for a momentary glance.  I thought he must be another minister there to teach the children. He was young, probably thirty some years old.  His hair was dark and his eyes were dark as well.  He had a short beard and shorter hair. He was casually dressed and looked comfortable standing next to the wall.  He seemed to be watching and not really participating in the preparations.

The next thing I remember is that he walked over to me. He put his arms around me, kissed me on the cheek and told me that he loved me. I immediately told him that I loved him too. And he turned and walked away.

I began looking for him, seeking to know more about him, but he was gone. Then, I woke from my dream.

I got out of bed, made a cup of tea and sat quietly in my chair thinking about the dream.

The presence of the man in my dream was awesome.

I felt a strong feeling of love, filled with sincerity and compassion, kindness, joy, genuine caring and so much more.  It was the most fulfilling hug I have ever experienced.  It was awesome.  The feeling of love was overwhelming in intensity.

And as I sat in my chair reliving the dream in my thoughts, I came into the knowledge that it was Jesus who was watching me in my dream. It was Jesus who stood casually dressed next to the wall glancing at me on occasion and it was Jesus who walked over to me and gave me a hug and kiss and told me in a soft and tender voice that He loves me!

I remember that I didn’t hesitate in the dream to say, “I love you, too”.

It was an automatic response to a love that is greater than any we can imagine here on this earth.  The love of Jesus is awesome, overwhelming and amazing.   It is a natural kind of love, unconditional and compassionate, full of joy and sincerity.

I feel so special that I have been given yet another wonderful gift from our Father in Heaven.  I desire to describe my experience better, using better or more descriptive words, but once again it seems impossible to put the love of Jesus into words. It is an action, a heartfelt experience that can barely be described by words in this world.

All I can say is that Jesus loves you and He loves me. That is why He died on the cross to save us from the sinfulness of the world.  That is why when we desire to know Him more and more, He will meet us in our desire and show us His great love and compassion by forgiveness of our sins and life in eternity knowing Him and experiencing His awesome love; forever loving Him in return.

My prayer for today is that we all seek our Lord, Jesus Christ as our Savior and experience His love in the deepest part of who we are; in heartfelt joy and overwhelming intensity of who He is.  I praise God for the wonderful experiences that show us that He is forever present in our daily lives.  In His wonderful love, I praise His glorious name, Amen.

He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.(John 14:21 KJV)
