Where are you standing... in your walk with God?

I ask the question:, 
"Where are you standing in your walk with God?"
 
Are you firmly rooted in a relationship with Him?
Do you walk in faith - knowing that God has all of your problems in His hands - resting assured that no matter what trials come your way, He will take care of you? 
  Or:

Are you standing just out of the reach of God?
Are you striving to handle all of your problems on your own?
Is your life a mess -- Not enough money, job losses, marriage in trouble, family in crisis, drug abuse, illness?
 
Do you ever wonder why - when tragedy strikes some people seem to handle it with a calmness --
a serene sense of peace and the knowledge that it will be okay?
 
Do you ever wonder why sometimes when tragedy strikes people run around in chaos, caught up in pain and agony -
reacting even more negatively to a negative situation?
 
The answer can be found in your relationship with God.
 
He is our loving Father in Heaven who seeks to bring us peace and understanding in all situations.  He understands

our pain, He understands our sorrow, He understands our financial woes, our troubled marriages, drug abuse, illness, families in crisis.
 
God understands His creation. 
 
That is why He sent His son Jesus to bear the burdens faced by humanity, to cover the sins that mankind committed and would continue to commit.
 
Through a relationship with Jesus Christ - God hears our prayers, He comes to our rescue - bringing us peace in troublesome times, protecting us from the evils of the world and providing us with a love so intense and fulfilling that we only seek to know Him more and more each day. 
 
Through a relationship with Jesus Christ -  we are saved!
 
Are you seeking to face the trials of this world on your own -- walking in the false belief that your problems are your

own - you harbor a secret, private pain - living a life too full of pride, filled with shame, or guilt and unable or unwilling to share it with anyone?
 
Jesus seeks to make you new again -- like the first breath you took as an infant when God breathed life into you - fresh and new!
 
You were born into this life as a human baby - unmarred by a cruel world,  yet to become aware of the pains that life would bring as you began to grow. 
 
Jesus was born Just like you and me, but as a  miracle child -- He grew, He walked the earth  - growing in knowledge of His Father and the knowledge that the reason He was born was to be our Savior -- to be the intercessor of the future pains of mankind - to repair the pains created by the evils of the world. 
 
Jesus death on the cross -- overcame all the sins of mankind - and the evils of the world. 
 
He was born just like you and me, but as a Savior for you and for me -- to take away the sin that society brings.
 
We have all  grown up in a world filled with sinfulness, and sinfulness is the cause of pain, and it steals the God-given joy from our hearts.
 
But as wonderfully created children of God, we are each given the choice to choose a relationship with Him through Jesus Christ our Savior! 
   Or: 
To go on living in a world that seeks to destroy who God created us to be.
 
Where are you standing in your walk with God? 
 
You see, the choice is yours!
It rests solely in your relationship with God.
 
Yes, there will still be troublesome times, tragedy, financial woes, illness and other pains in life, but walking in faith -- knowing that Our Creator is watching over us -- gives us confidence to weather even the toughest storms.
 
And when we raise our arms up to our Father in Heaven and praise His Holy Name
in the midst of our pain - He provides strength and love -- an inner peace and joy that sees us through.
 
God seeks the face of His children -- all whom He created.
That is you, it is me, it is our children, friends, enemies, everyone.
 
He seeks you -- regardless of your past, regardless of your financial status, regardless of your pride, shame, or guilt. 
He seeks to know you now -- to be in a relationship with you now.
He seeks to take away your pain, to fix your marriages, to heal your wounds, your illness, to cure your negativity, your anger, your feelings of inadequacy.
 
He seeks a relationship with each one of us now -- today.
 
If you didn't know Him yesterday -- then choose to start today,  fresh and new -- just like the day you were born into this world -- with the breath of Our Lord renewing your spirit into a Wondrous relationship with Him!
 
My prayer for today is that today will find you seeking the face of Our Lord -- seeking His love, His comfort and His joy - living in a personal relationship with Him, as your Father in Heaven and that your life will be filled with His essence and wondrous workings throughout the year!!

Question:  "What does it mean to have a personal relationship with God?"

Answer:  Having a personal relationship with God begins the moment we realize our need for Him, admit we are sinners, and in faith receive Jesus Christ as Savior. God, our heavenly Father, has always desired to be close to us, to have a relationship with us. Before Adam sinned in the Garden of Eden (Genesis chapter 3), both he and Eve knew God on an intimate, personal level. They walked with Him in the Garden and talked directly to Him. Due to the sin of man, we became separated and disconnected from God.

What many people do not know, realize, or care about, is that Jesus gave us the most amazing gift — the opportunity to spend eternity with God if we trust in Him. “For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord” (Romans 6:23). God became a human being in the Person of Jesus Christ to take on our sin, be killed, and then be raised to life again, proving His victory over sin and death. “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus” (Romans 8:1). If we accept this gift, we have become acceptable to God and can have a relationship with Him.

Having a personal relationship with God means we should include God in our daily lives. We should pray to Him, read His word, and meditate on verses in an effort to get to know Him better. We should pray for wisdom (James 1:5), which is the most valuable asset we could ever have. We should take our requests to Him, asking in Jesus' name (John 15:16).

Jesus is the One who loves us enough to give His life for us (Romans 5:8), and He is the one who bridged the gap between us and God. 

The Holy Spirit has been given to us as our Counselor. “If you love me, you will obey what I command. And I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Counselor to be with you forever — the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept Him, because it neither sees Him nor knows Him. But you know Him, for He lives with you and will be in you” (John 14:15-17). Jesus said this before He died, and after He died the Holy Spirit became available to all who earnestly seek to receive Him. He is the One who lives in the hearts of believers and never leaves. He counsels us, teaches us truths, and changes our hearts. Without this divine Holy Spirit, we would not have the ability to fight against evil and temptations. But since we do have Him, we begin to produce the fruit that comes from allowing the Spirit to control us: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23).

This personal relationship with God is not as hard to find as we might think, and there is no mysterious formula for getting it. As soon as we become children of God, we receive the Holy Spirit, who will begin to work on our hearts. We should pray without ceasing, read the Bible, and join a Bible-believing church; all these things will help us to grow spiritually. Trusting in God to get us through each day and believing that He is our sustainer is the way to have a relationship with Him. Although we may not see changes immediately, we will begin to see them over time, and all the truths will become clear.
