The Heart of the Falling Rain

written by Patricia Ann 4/20/22

I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. Genesis 17:7

I awoke in the night to the sound of raindrops falling on my roof.  At first, it was just a light pitter patter, as the drops fell. Then, it increased in intensity to a loud popping sound, reminiscent of popcorn popping. The rain lasted with this intensity for what seemed like hours--the constant pitter, patter, pop pop -- and in my being, I was taken to an awareness that this is like tears from Heaven.

I thought -- God is crying these tears because of the hard-heartedness of mankind.  Tears from Heaven, as God, our Father and the Holy Spirit are grieving, and Jesus stands at the door of every heart to welcome the lost ones into a relationship with His Father, with God.

I fell back asleep, as the raindrops continued to fall.. but in my rest, I remained aware of an urgency of our Lord at calling mankind's hearts unto Himself.  Hours later, it's daylight.  The rain still falls - sometimes stopping for a short while - then very heavy downpours - and it is as if my heart is sharing with the heart of God (a picture),  a grieving process of losing lost ones into the hands of hell.

Like a woman in travail, a childbirth so hard... also is our Father's love for each child.  He knows not all will be born of Him, not all born again.  Many turn away in agony and pain, inner turmoil and grief that covers their heart -- broken, yet hardened even to God who created them.

In Love, it was God who knew them already, before placing them in their own mother's womb.

In Love, it was God who watched them grow and be born into this world as a tiny babe.

In Love, God gave them their first breath of air and everyday of life through to today.

I see them turn away the One who loves them the Most... rejecting especially, the One who suffered rejection on their behalf.

And I am taken back to the sound of wind and the intensity of the pouring rain, as tears from Heaven, our Father's tears, continue to fall in travail of the birth of a Nation, of a people whom All should be called by His Name.

My prayer for today is that we experience our Lord, even as a small voice the wind or in the pitter, patter, pop pop of raindrops falling from Heaven.  May we each experience the Love of the One who loves us the Most.  And may we All seek to be a part of the birth of a Nation called by His Name.  Let us be a people united - in One accord worshipping our Lord, our Father in Heaven.

Blessings, Peace and Love in Jesus Name.

I will establish My covenant between Me and you and your descendants after you throughout their generations for an everlasting covenant, to be God to you and to your descendants after you. Genesis 17:7
