Let us join in nature's song
Job 12:7-10 “But ask the animals, and they will teach you, or the birds in the sky, and they will tell you; or speak to the earth, and it will teach you, or let the fish in the sea inform you. Which of all these does not know that the hand of the LORD has done this? In his hand is the life of every creature and the breath of all mankind.

To sit in tune with nature is to bring calm to our mind and body. Creation was designed for us to live, thrive and enjoy. The warmth of the gentle breeze brings forth the fragrance of nearby blooms that feed bees and butterflies. I see a row of red ants busily walking their path from an old tree stump to a younger tree nearby. The birds sing early in the morning, but during the day it seems they take a break and are quiet. Caterpillers have turned into butterflies and the tadpoles that were in the ditch nearby have changed to jumping bullfrogs. I see the tiniest of blooms and the largest, or the smallest bug or the intricate build of a dragonfly's as it's large head joins his body by such a small neck. The hummingbirds wings move so quicky that the sound resembles a bumble bee flying by. These are just a part of the wondrous things of nature. The mulberries on my mulberry trees are scoffed at by many, but they are food to the birds and other wildlife here. If we tune in to nature and tune out the sounds of cars and trucks, or airplanes, we are blessed to hear nature, as it praises our Creator. Think of the sounds of children laughing, or an old couple rocking in chairs on their front porch reminiscing with friends of how things used to be before life got noisy and distractions sought to take over our peace. I remember fishing with a pole and a bobber in the water, seeing snapping turtles or frogs or bugs floating on the surface, sunbathing. Or, I remember taking off our shoes to walk barefoot in the sand along a flowing creek while skipping stones across the water...or that feeling of mud squishing between our toes after a rain...or the freshness of freshly cut green grass. I remember laying under a tree for hours amazed at the cloud formations and the brightness of the sun and the coolness of the shade. Pine trees smell good and pinecones make cool decorations. The maple tree whirlygigs look like little helicopters as the wind carries them to new destinations and they stick into the ground and grow a new tree. I love the dandelion that turns from a bright yellow bit of sunshine to a puffball of seeds that get carried for miles and miles. It is ALL part of God's design. His perfect design. There are so many shapes, colors and designs. Not one has a flaw, as perfection isn't His demand. Recognition is more of that goal. Do we recognize all or any of these wonders that are so often taken for granted? Do we just take a moment and breathe it all in? Do we just take a moment and say Thank you, God!
I see you!
I recognize you! Do we just need to take a moment and know that you and me, are also part of His creation, intricately and wonderfully formed from His seed? We are a part of His nature ... born, planted, living, breathing, growing and when not to distracted by the busyness that the days too often bring, our very essence recalls our nature roots. Our home is truly where our Creator resides. In the calm resolve of sitting peacefully near a trickling stream, under a tree or walking down a dirt path, we can find ourselves at home with our Creator, our God. As all of nature praises Him in song, shouldn't we joyfully join in?
He is Worthy to be praised! Love and blessings to All.
Amen
