Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!
FRIENDSHIP AND LOVE
I have recently been given a wonderful blessing by God.
~~An acquaintance that I had known for many years recently moved close to me and became a great friend to me almost instantaneously.
I knew when he was coming that something special was in store for me, but the blessing of this person in my life has been much greater than I ever imagined.
Everything was going along great when one day my friend became ill and was hospitalized. The next day his family and I were called to come to the ER because my friend had suffered a seizure.
I thought I was going to lose my new found friend to this illness and I began to feel an emptiness form inside of me.
I didn't question God asking why. Why is this happening to my friend?
But I thanked God for the friendship I was so blessed with. I prayed to God for my friend to be healed and for two weeks he was in the hospital.
During that time, I did not know if my friend would live or die,
or ever be the same again.
I continued to thank God for the blessing of knowing this wonderful person.
I wanted to know him for a lifetime, but I knew that it may not be God's will.
I knew in my heart - that knowing my friend for even this short period of time granted by God, was a huge blessing that had been bestowed upon me.
This person touched my heart. He had a heart of God, so sincere and knowledgeable in God's word and works. Our talks filled me up inside and I missed my friend during those weeks when he was ill.
I visited him daily just to let him know I was there - a true friend sharing the love of God. How could I not want to
be by his side?
As stated in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10
Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their toil. For if they fall, one will lift up his fellow. But woe to him who is alone when he falls and has not another to lift him up!
I thank Jesus for His Friendship and for Love, and for His wonderful healing mercies~~ as my friend is feeing much better and my prayers for him were answered.
I pray that all all who read this will be faithful in Jesus and allow the experience of His Love and Friendship to bless their lives as it has mine.
Proverbs 22:24-25
This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that someone lay down his life for his friends. You are my friends if you do what I command you. No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you.
